Flu Clinics 2025
We’re pleased to announce this year’s flu vaccination programme
Eligible patients will be invited during September 2025 via:
- Text Message: Includes a link to self-book your appointment.
- Letter: Invites you to call the practice between 2pm to 6pm (Mon–Fri) to book.

Clinic Dates (pre-booked appointments only)
- Saturday 4th October 2025
- Morning: 8.30am to 12pm
- Afternoon: 1pm to 4pm
- Saturday 11th October 2025
- Morning: 8.30am to 12pm
Location
Clinics will be held at Thornhills Medical Practice with a one-way system in place.
On the Day
- Follow signage and queue system
- Come prepared for the weather
- Attend alone unless support is needed
- Have your name, DOB, address, and allergy info ready
- Ensure your arm is ready for vaccination
After Your Vaccination
- Most patients can leave immediately
- Some may be asked to wait briefly
Volunteers needed
We are again seeking volunteers to assist with queue management.
If you can help, please speak with reception or contact us online.
Eligibility for a free NHS Flu Vaccination (2025–2026)
Registered patients who fall into one of the following groups:
- Pregnant women
- Children aged 2 or 3 on 31 August 2025
- Primary school children (Reception to Year 6)
- Secondary school children (Year 7 to Year 11)
- Children aged 6 months to under 18 in clinical risk groups
- Adults aged 65 and over
- Adults aged 18 to under 65 in clinical risk groups, including:
- Chronic respiratory, heart, kidney, liver, or neurological disease
- Diabetes
- Weakened immune system
- Splenic dysfunction or removal
- Morbid obesity (BMI ≥ 40)
- Residents of long-stay care homes
- Carers (including those receiving carer’s allowance)
- Household contacts of immunocompromised individuals
- Frontline health and social care workers
Housebound & Care Home Patients
These patients will be visited and vaccinated at home or in their care setting.
Children Without Chronic Conditions
- 2–3 year olds will be invited separately for vaccination at the surgery.
- 4–15 year olds will be vaccinated via school programmes.
Additional Clinics
Further clinics will be announced for those unable to attend the above dates. Opportunistic vaccinations may also be offered during other appointments.
