Practice Nurse

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Practice Nurse to our friendly team at Thornhills Medical Practice. Full / Part time hours considered and salary competitive.
The successful post holder will be responsible for undertaking a full range of treatment room duties. Duties will include but are not limited to, immunisations, wound care, dressings, removal of sutures, cervical smear taking, anti-coagulation, managing long term conditions such as, Hypertension, COPD, Diabetes, Asthma etc. Experience in additional areas including travel immunisations, family planning, and triage, are desirable.
Training will be provided for in-house specific procedures, however previous experience of working as a Practice Nurse in a primary care setting is essential. The post holder must work as part of a team, have the ability to organise and prioritise their own workload on a day to day basis, have the ability to adapt and embrace positively to change and observe strict rules about confidentiality at all times.

Patient Services Advisors

We are looking for an experienced Patient Services Advisor to join our friendly reception team at Thornhills Medical Practice.
We have a variety of hours, shifts and days available. Each shift consists of 5 hours per shift, Monday to Friday from either 8:00am to 1:00pm or 1:00pm to 6:00pm or 1.30pm to 6:30pm. This may include some double shifts on some days. You will also be required to cover on some occasions evenings and weekends to assist with enhanced access and other clinics.
The successful post holder will be responsible for undertaking a wide range of reception and administrative duties. Duties can include but are not limited to, greeting and guiding patients in the best use of resource within the practice and in the wider NHS, enabling them to access the most effective help for their presenting need, booking appointments, processing of information, acting as the central point of contact for patients, the distribution of information, messages and enquiries for the clinical team, liaising with multidisciplinary team members and external agencies such as secondary care and community service providers. Training will be provided however as a minimum, customer service experience and excellent communication (oral and written) are essential. Experience of working in a GP surgery is desirable. You must work as part of a team, have the ability to adapt and embrace positively to change and observe strict rules about confidentiality at all times.

Advanced Nurse Practitioner

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced, enthusiastic, committed and caring Advanced Nurse Practitioner to join our friendly team at Thornhills Medical Practice.
The successful post holder will be an experienced Advance Nurse Practitioner and Independent Nurse Prescriber. They will ideally have experience of primary care and must be confident working autonomously and independently within their professional boundaries and as part of a team whilst carrying out clinical assessment, triage and consultations, providing diagnosis, treatment, evaluation of care and prescribing.
They will demonstrate safe, clinical decision-making and expert care for patients within the general practice. They will work collaboratively with the multi-disciplinary general practice team to meet the needs of patients, supporting the delivery of policy and procedures, and providing support to GP’s and practice team as required.

Experienced Surgical Practitioner

Thornhills Medical Practice is looking to recruit a Surgical Practitioner to perform minor surgery procedures, including Seborrhoeic Keratosis, Sebaceous Cysts, Lipomas, Skin Tags and Skin Lesions. We are looking for a registered healthcare professional such as a Nurse, ANP or Paramedic, who is looking to develop their skills.
In-house training will be provided by our team of experienced GP’s specialising in minor surgery along with relevant minor surgical courses. The post holder must however have some previous experience and training within minor surgery. You should also be competent in wound and skin suture management and in basic life support/resuscitation.
Thornhills Medical Practice has a long tradition in minor operations. We are one of the largest local providers of these services in primary care. We have a dedicated operating suite at our premises in Larkfield, equipped with medical technology to provide minor surgery to patients with a range of conditions.
